About Period Equality Network

Our Story

In April 2021, Irise Institute East Africa (IIEA) initiated The Period Equality Network (TPEN) with an inaugural membership of 30 organizations. Remarkably, as of October 2023, TPEN has expanded to encompass 160 registered and approved members.

TPEN represents a diverse community of initiatives dedicated to advancing menstrual health and hygiene. Its members operate at various levels, spanning the national, regional, and grassroots arenas within East Africa.
TPEN serves as a collaborative platform, fostering collective advocacy to enhance menstrual health outcomes.

This includes facilitating better access to resources and training opportunities.
Please note that membership in TPEN is currently temporarily closed as we focus on shaping our advocacy direction for TPEN’s future initiatives.
