The Period Equality Network Small Grants program operates through a collaborative partnership with Irise International, and it receives invaluable support from the Waterloo Foundation. These grants have a specific focus on empowering and prioritizing visionary and groundbreaking initiatives brought forth by civil society-led, non-governmental organizations, and community-based organizations closely associated with the Period Equality Network. The ultimate goal is to ignite significant and lasting transformations that will play a pivotal role in advancing the cause of period equality throughout the East African region.

Improved menstrual health education, management, and increased product access for adolescent girls and young women.
Menstrual health policies for women and girls formulated & fully implemented.
Strong, committed membership positively contributing to the network across East Africa to advance period equality.
Increased Membership from 50 in April 2021 to over 160 Network members in January 2024, with over 300 on the waiting list.
Small grants sub-granting for TPEN members to advance quality menstrual health programs for women and girls.
2 organizations have been engaged under the Pad Project to boost their small enterprises.
5 TPEN Member organizations have been supported to implement the FJS Project with IIEA.
3 network members have benefited from the Cova Project.
Over 40 network members have benefited from the Menstrual Justice Academy in 2023 and 2024.
Sharing information and knowledge among network members, thus promoting coordination at the local, national, regional, and international levels.
Over 60 network members have been supported and engaged by IIEA under various projects. For example, over 15 organizations have received small grants to catalyse MHM interventions between 2021 and 2023.
10 TPEN members were supported to implement their advocacy campaigns to celebrate MH DAY 2024.
